🤯 So ChatGPT isn’t always the smartest one?

I tested 4 top AI chatbots—here’s who wins at what (and where each one flops). šŸ”„

Welcome Back Everyone! It’s Saturday, June 21st. (& I’m exciteddd)

Marketers have too much to do and not enough time.

You have to write, plan, research, reply to emails, look at data, and stay up to data... all at once. AI tools can help, but the problem is that there are too many of them.

You hear about ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity.

But no one tells you which one is best for what. You try one, get confused, and give up, or waste time using the wrong tool for the job.

I am going to simplify it for you today. Today's post tells you what each tool does best, what it’s not made for, and when you should use it in your day-to-day work.

Get your gear on and let’s plunge!

1. ChatGPT

Ā» Best for Writing and Brainstorming

ChatGPT is like a helpful friend for writing. You give it a short message, and it gives back full ideas, sentences, or even full posts.

It saves time when you don’t know how to start or what to write next. If you want to write an email, ad, or blog post, tell ChatGPT the topic.

It will write something you can use or improve. You can then ask it to make the writing funny, formal, short, or simple. It listens and rewrites fast.

If you seem stuck, ChatGPT can brainstorm for you. Just say, ā€œGive me 10 Instagram post ideas for a new shampoo,ā€ and you will have a list.

It also helps with:

  • Generate images or work your image data (For ex: screenshots)

  • Turning short notes into long posts

  • Fixing grammar or boring sentences

  • Creating content calendars for email or social media

  • Writing blog outlines based on your topic

  • Coming up with different angles for the same idea

You can even copy your writing into ChatGPT and say, ā€œMake this better,ā€ or ā€œMake it sound like Apple,ā€ and it will try to match that tone. It works best when:

  • You want ideas fast

  • You don’t have time to start from scratch

  • You need different ways to say the same thing

  • You are writing for different platforms (email, LinkedIn, blogs)

But it sometimes gives wrong facts. So, if you are using numbers or real names, double-check them. Think of ChatGPT as your idea machine.

It doesn’t get tired. It doesn’t judge. You ask. It writes. The paid version also does image-related tasks and more. For now, let's keep it to the free version.

2. Google Gemini

Ā» Best for Work with Google Tools

Google Gemini is most useful when you work inside Gmail, Google Docs, or Google Sheets. It is well-connected with all Google tools.

If you write emails, Gemini can help you reply. You just type, ā€œWrite a reply to this client about the delay,ā€ and it does it inside Gmail, and you do not need to leave your inbox.

In Google Docs, Gemini can read your notes or briefs and give summaries, ideas, or even rewrite parts of your document.

It can look at your campaign data in Google Sheets and explain what it means in plain words, or even build simple charts for you.

Gemini is also helpful when you want to:

  • Summarise long docs in seconds

  • Write or edit inside your Google Drive

  • Answer emails in your tone of voice

  • Look at campaign data and pull out trends

  • Research keywords or topics using Google Search

  • Generate AI images or work on image data (For ex: screenshots)

But it’s not the best for long content. If you want full blog posts or creative ad copy, ChatGPT or Claude do a better job.

Gemini saves time for marketers who use Google tools at scale. You don’t need to copy and paste between tabs. It works right where you are.

3. Claude

Ā» Best for Reading and Understanding Long Stuff

Claude is best when you work with long text.

You can upload large reports, meeting notes, or research documents, and it will read all at once and give you clear takeaways. It does well with:

  • Summarizing long documents

  • Pulling insights from PDFs or research

  • Turning rough notes into clean writing

  • Following tone or brand voice rules

Claude handles more text at once than ChatGPT.

That makes it better to write content based on research or notes. It also writes in a more natural tone when you are doing blog posts, landing pages, or long emails.

If you say, ā€œMake this sound friendly but clear,ā€ Claude usually gets it right the first time.

It’s smart and steady, especially when the writing needs structure and sense.

It’s not built for quick, snappy ideas or short-form copy. But for serious writing or research-heavy work, Claude does the job better than most.

4. Perplexity

Ā» Best for Fast, Clear, and True Answers

Perplexity works like a mix of a search engine and a chatbot. You ask a question, and it gives you a short, clear answer with links that show where the information came from.

You don’t have to open five tabs to double-check things. It does that for you.

It’s so helpful for marketers who need to:

  • Find real stats for a blog or pitch deck

  • Look up recent updates, trends, or news

  • Quickly learn about a new topic or tool

  • Check if a number or claim is true

Perplexity doesn’t try to sound clever.

It just answers your question straight and shows you the source. That makes it more honest and useful when you care about facts, not fluff.

You can ask things like:

  • What are the latest email open rate benchmarks in India?

  • Which companies use WhatsApp for customer service?

  • What does programmatic advertising mean?

It gives answers you can trust, without wasting time.

But it’s not good for writing content. It won’t write long emails, catchy social posts, or brand copy. It’s built for research, not creativity.

Use Perplexity when you want fast and true answers with proof. It’s best when you are preparing, researching, or checking, not writing.

How to Choose the Right Tool?

  • For Daily Content Creation: Use ChatGPT when you need blog posts, social media content, or email copy. It's fast and creative.

  • For Research Projects: Choose Perplexity when you need current data, industry trends, or competitor information. It backs your findings/claims.

  • For Strategic Planning: Pick Claude when you need to solve complex marketing problems or create long-term strategies. It thinks systematically.

  • For Google-related tasks: Use Gemini for Google Ads, local SEO, YouTube marketing, or anything connected to Google's ecosystem.

Using Multiple Tools Together

Wise marketers don't use just one tool. They use different AI assistants for various tasks.

Start with Perplexity for research. Find current trends and competitor information.

Then, use Claude to turn that research into a strategy. Next, have ChatGPT create the actual content. Finally, use Gemini to optimize everything for Google's platforms.

It will give you the strengths of each tool without their weaknesses holding you back.

Use Case Examples

Example 1: You Are Planning a Campaign

  • Use ChatGPT to list campaign ideas.

  • Use Gemini to check if those ideas match what people search on Google.

  • Use Claude to turn your plan into a full strategy doc.

Example 2: You Are Creating a New Landing Page

  • Use ChatGPT to write the page.

  • Use Claude to rewrite the page in a tone that fits your brand.

  • Use Gemini to pull key numbers into a Google Sheet.

  • Use ChatGPT to turn the summary into slides.

  • Use Perplexity to double-check any claims in the report.

Tips for Each Tool

ChatGPT: Be specific about tone and style. Give examples of what you want. Ask for multiple options so you can choose the best one.

Gemini: Specifically ask for recent information. Use it when you need Google-friendly content. Connect it to your other Google tools when possible.

Claude Tips: Explain your business context clearly. Ask for step-by-step plans rather than quick answers. Use it for complex problems that need deep thinking.

Perplexity Tips: Ask for sources with every answer. Use it to verify facts from other tools. Be specific about the time frame you need information for.

So, if you observe, at the heart of everything is how you give input to any of these AI models/assistants. The input you give is called prompting.

And a dedicated branch for this is prompt engineering. The general thought is that the output or the answers these models give depend on how clear and detailed your input is.

So, here's a prompting resource for you.

Here's a cheat sheet for you:

That's all for this week folks…
