"Want a brand new iPhone 15 Pro for just $2?"

In 99% of cases, this is an obvious scam. But what if it's MrBeast making the offer?

Suddenly, it seems plausible, given MrBeast's reputation for generous giveaways.

However, in this instance, it turned out to be a scam.

This week, a deepfake ad featuring MrBeast managed to trick TikTok's ad moderation system and reached thousands of users.

In the fake ad, an incredibly realistic MrBeast claims he's giving away 10,000 iPhones for just $2 each.

TikTok did remove the ad within a few hours, and MrBeast himself addressed the incident, saying, "Lots of people are getting this deepfake scam ad of me... Are social media platforms ready to handle the rise of AI deepfakes? This is a serious problem..."

Indeed, it is a serious problem. Social media giants are still struggling to effectively combat the AI revolution.

So, stay cautious out there! Scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and you can't solely rely on large corporations like TikTok to protect you.

Tool Talk: HARPA AI 🪄

HARPA AI: A free Chrome extension that functions similarly to ChatGPT for web browsing, but it accompanies you while surfing. Since it's a free service, it's unclear how they generate revenue or what happens to the data 🤷‍♂️.

It's a conversational bot capable of handling fundamental tasks like summarisation, Q&A, and content generation, which are contextually based on the content you're viewing.

Additionally, it offers an array of advanced functions, including monitoring website updates, executing SEO-related activities, generating charts from data, summarising YouTube content, automating LinkedIn tasks, debugging code, and more. It's definitely worth experimenting with a few times.
